This month is all about getting the trees into the "right" shape and making sure the plantations are weed free. Hans and Paul have been out on the tractor cutting the weeds down and Kristien has been brush cutting in the plantation next to the retail area.
The tall trees are pruned using long handled pruners as they are too tall to be bud nipped by hand, this encourages the tree into the traditional Christmas tree shape.
The marking of the trees has started watched over by the keen eye of Hans who has very exacting standards about the different qualities of the trees. He only has the top quality trees in our retail, which he has already earmarked.
Twitter is full of "how many Fridays to Christmas?" and "how many shopping days". I know some of you feel it is way too early to be thinking about Christmas but for all of us at Santa Fir it is Christmas conversation every day and it is never too early to start planning for the busy month of December. We are planning new things for this year so keep your eyes peeled and we will let you know what is happening as the weeks tick by.
